William F. Smith III, Au.D., CCC-A, Licensed Doctor Of Audiology
Will Smith is a Licensed Audiologist in the state of Tennessee and holds a Hearing Instrument Specialist License in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. He holds a Certificate Of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A), an internationally recognized credential for audiologists, by The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dr. Smith practices audiology at Tennessee Hearing Instruments in Knoxville, TN, where he has been a part of the team since 2004.
About his Education:
Will Smith graduated in 2009 with a degree in Audiology from The University of Tennessee. He continued his post-graduate education at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, earning a Masters of Science in Audiology in 2012 and then received a Doctorate Degree in Audiology in 2014. He was the designated commencement speaker for his own doctorate graduating class in May of 2014. He completed a clinical trial research study titled “Examination of Frequency Compression in Hearing Aids.” in 2014 as well. While serving residency at The Heuser Hearing Institute, home of the Louisville Deaf Oral School, in Louisville, KY, he received extensive training in hearing assessment, treatment of hearing loss, assessment and treatment of balance disorders, cochlear implant mapping, electrophysiological assessment, and pediatric hearing disorders. After his graduation in 2014, he travelled to Peru in with the Starkey Hearing Foundation as a part of a team fitting 2,000 children and adults.
